Step Up, Step Out (A Thought)

Sometimes there are needs that need to be met and most of the time you are able to meet those needs. It may be meeting another person’s need of food, water, shelter, or clothing. It may be a need to make a change in our society; maybe you see that the local government needs to change and you are just the person to do it. There are times in our lives when we see things…when we know that something needs to be done…but how many times do we believe we can make a change? How many times do we step up and step out of our comfort zones? If you read the story of David and Goliath you’ll read of a young boy who killed a giant, who took his (the giants) sword and cut his head off with it. But something you won’t read is where God told David to go and do it. God never told David, “I want you to go and take care of that giant Goliath and when you kill him I want you to cut his head off so that all the Philistines know that I am the Lord.” Never did God say that to David. The young shepherd boy saw an issue that wasn’t being taken care of and decided to do something about it. He decided to step up and step out to show the world how big his God is, David said to Goliath and all the Philistines, “I come at you in the name of God-of-the-Angel-Armies, the God of Israel’s troops, whom you curse and mock. This very day God is handing you over to me.” I believe that God is waiting for many of us to step up and out of our places of comfort and break out of the everyday “ordinary”. I believe that when we make a choice to do something to make a difference that God will honor that. I believe that God will work on our behalf when we have faith that it’s through Him that we can make a difference in our world. So I want to ask you this question…

“What are you doing to step up and step out to change our world and impact it for the Kingdom?”
